Our work

Connected ideas.
Practical possibilities.

Five areas of work connect the way we grow food with the way we learn, build enterprises, and share knowledge.

01 / Our approach

Agripreneurship & Social Business

Connect practical farming with the skills, confidence, and business models that support lasting livelihoods.

Our earlier youth programming brought personal development, agribusiness, and money management together. The longer-term vision includes support for farmers and cooperatives to develop viable farming businesses.

02 / Our approach

Agroecology & Regenerative Farming

Explore farming that works with ecological processes and brings soil, food, and livelihoods into the same picture.

Dassatek’s farming direction explores diversified vegetable production, compost and soil improvement, crop rotation, and practical approaches to crop protection. Our aim is to connect ecological care with realistic farming decisions.

03 / Our approach

Apprenticeship & Practical Learning

Learn by doing through demonstration gardens, field visits, hands-on experiences, and shared reflection.

Awakening Young Farmer’s original model included vegetable garden apprenticeships and seed grants for garden projects. Demonstration spaces and shared experiences help turn an idea into something people can explore for themselves.

04 / Our approach

Research & Appropriate Technology

Explore affordable, locally relevant tools and farming models through practical experimentation.

The 2024 project design proposed comparisons between agroecological and conventional GAP beds, soil testing, low-cost crop protection, and soil-moisture-based irrigation. These are proposed trial methods; the website does not present unverified trial results.

Media, Knowledge & Storytelling

Make farming visible through Khmer podcasts, youth stories, field learning, and accessible resources.

Khmer-language podcasts and community stories make room for young people’s perspectives on agriculture. Our Knowledge Hub connects selected research resources with questions that matter in Cambodian farming.
